Fair Food Maker – 6 favorite carnival foods all in one by Sunstorm Interactive is a brand new gaming app just released three days ago! It’s already ranking as the #2 top-free app in the app store! I have to say that I love the fair, and not just for the food, but for just about everything it includes – food, games, animals, crafts, rides and much more! No matter where you live, your fair is probably just around the corner. This app has seriously gotten me excited about the fair, lol! Fair Food Maker lets you cook and decorate your favorite fair foods: cotton candy, snow cones, corn dogs, milk shakes, lemon shake ups and funnel cakes!
With Fair Food Maker, you start off by selecting your favorite food stand, and then begin to run it! The flavors are many and the toppings are galore! Each food stand is decorated with very cute animation! It’s pretty hard to make a choice! I ended up choosing the milk shake stand. It was decorated like a milk shake itself, even including the cherry on top! When I first started working with my stand, I was asked to select a milk flavor between white, chocolate and strawberry, however, the white milk was the only option that was unlocked for me – unless I wanted to make an in-app purchase for the other flavors. So, I chose the white. At first, I poured the milk into my cup. This was done by tilting my phone, which was very cute! Then I chose the kind of ice cream. There were three flavors unlocked for me to choose from. There were countless locked flavors that were tempting, but not worth the price! Once I chose my flavor, I was asked to scoop it into my cup. I literally had to scoop them into my cup! Now, that was fun! After that, I could add my toppings: fruits, nuts and candy! There weren’t many items that were unlocked – two out of the eight fruits; one out of the four nuts and two out of the ten candies. Fair Food Maker also offered flavored syrup, which did make me feel like the app was getting extra detailed! That boosted my rating a little. There were eight different syrup flavors, and two of them were unlocked. Once I chose my ingredients, I was shown a blended and asked to tap the button to blend. I watched as the blender, blended my ingredients. My phone even vibrated while the blender was in action, making the effects pretty awesome! I even got to see the consistency change, which was crazy cool! There were tons of different straws I could choose from, regular straws and even crazy straws. Three of each kind were unlocked. On top of all that, the app even offered, backgrounds, cup decals and attachments, so I see how you could keep playing Fair Food Maker for a while (if you purchase the pack for the stand your working on). There are so many options and the effects are very entertaining.
Fair Food Maker is free to download, so it does have ads. The ads popped up at random times, covering your whole screen, which was irritating! But the ads aren’t the worst of it! The in-app purchases are highly expensive. Upon choosing the stand you want to run, you’re shown a notice. Since I chose the milkshake stand, the notice I saw said, “While playing the Milkshake, you will see ads. If you purchase the unlock Milkshake pack, ads will be removed.” I was also shown a separate notice when tapping one of the locked flavors that said, “You don’t own this item. Would you like to buy the Milk Shake Pack? This feature will unlock all items and remove ads in Milk Shake Maker!” The milkshake pack costs $4.99, but each pack is a different price as I’ve shown below:

As you can see, just ONE pack is very pricey, and even with a purchase of one pack, that’s all you get – one pack! I just can’t believe you could spend twenty bucks on a gaming app. Although I do enjoy the app, unless you play it the very basic way, it’s highly overpriced! If you don’t want to spend the money for the in-app purchases, you can still enjoy it a couple times with the basic ingredients that are unlocked. Overall, it’s a very fun app with great animation, effects and gameplay, but the price is extremely high. The packs should each be priced closer to $0.99 or $1.99 at MAX. I will say that the price is my only complaint. The app has numerous features that are extremely attractive.
